About Goose Island Brewpub
Chicago’s Goose Island makes their first foray into Philadelphia with their Fishtown brewpub next to the Fillmore and Punchline Philly. A long time coming in this industrial, but up & coming area, Goose Island fills the void between Frankford Avenue and Front Street with a large indoor bar & restaurant, plus plenty of outdoor seating and a large lawn area with assorted games.
In addition to Goose Island’s mainstream classics are a wide selection of lesser known beers including multiple IPAs. Food is reasonably priced for the area, which is good as there aren’t many other options in the immediate area.
All in all, Goose Island provides a great option for grabbing a drink before seeing a show at the Fillmore or Punchline. It also adds another brewery option in the ever-increasing trail of breweries from northern Fishtown (Philadelphia Brewing Company) down to Yards on Spring Garden. If you’re looking to put together a brewery crawl, Goose Island is in exactly the right spot.
